# ConfigBot for ServiceNow - Cross-Instance Update Set Analysis

The **ConfigBot** **for ServiceNow – Cross-Instance Update Set Analysis** provides visibility into **Customer Updates** across multiple ServiceNow instances, allowing users to identify which source configuration updates are already present in the destination instance. The module compares Customer Updates data from the selected **Source** instance against one or more **Destination** instances, helping users identify matching and missing configurations without manually reviewing each instance.
This automation simplifies cross-instance validation, improves configuration visibility, and helps ensure consistency during update set migration and deployment activities.
The following article explains how to use the **Cross-Instance Update Set Analysis** module in **ConfigBot** to analyse associated **Customer Updates** across source and destination ServiceNow instances, identify which source updates are present in the selected destination instances, and review the comparison results.

**Step 1: Log in to ConfigBot**

Enter your username and password on the login page, then click Submit to access your ConfigBot portal.

**Step 2: Access the Update Set Module**

From the ConfigBot dashboard, navigate to the Platform, and click on Update Set module tile to open it.

**Note:** Cross-Instance Update Set Analysis does not directly support workbook configuration. It uses child iterations generated from the **Update Set** module, so first create iterations for the **Source** and **Destination** instances.

Notes: **One Source and at least one Destination are mandatory** to run an iteration, with a maximum of **three Destinations** allowed per iteration.

**Step 8: Review Result**

Once the status shows complete, click on the sheet icon and open the generated workbook.
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/4/3/b/7/43b7e9fbd033000/image_1ztirl.png)
Here you can see, Source Customer Updates data is captured in **Columns** **C** **through G**, while the comparison results are displayed in **Columns L through N**, with **Destination**\* as the header column.

The checkboxes indicate whether the **Customer Update** is present in the respective **Destination** instance.

This is how **ConfigBot for ServiceNow – Cross-Instance Update Set Analysis** provides a **quick and reliable way to verify Customer Update consistency across instances**. Instead of manually inspecting records, you can easily identify which updates are present or missing and visualize the results in a structured, tabular format.

Thank you!
