ConfigBot WD - How to add and update Cost Center in Core HCM.
CORE HCM – Cost Center
The following article will help to explain how you can add or update a Cost Center in Workday through Configbot.
- Enter your Username and Password and click at the submit button to login.

- Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the "Core HCM" module tile.

- Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

- Navigate to the generated workbook (in my case, Iteration #1) and open the workbook.

- The workbook will appear in a new tab on your browser. Select ''Cost Center'' worksheet.

- Enter the Cost Center Name, Code, Cost Center Type, and other required details in their respective columns. After adding the cost center, proceed to the Worktag configuration screen where you can select the appropriate cost center name, choose the worktag type, define the default worktag if needed, and specify whether it is required on transactions. Once all fields are completed, update the Processing Status to Pending.


- Close the workbook and navigate back to ConfigBot. Under the Actions tab for the same iteration number, click the hamburger menu, and select the "Start Configuration" option from the dropdown menu.

- The Start Configuration pop-up window will appear. Enter your Workday password and provide any relevant execution notes. Then, select the checkboxes for Cost Center. Finally, click the "Confirm and Start" button.

- You can later click the information icon to monitor the progress of your iteration.

- Once the status shows "Complete," return to the workbook to verify that the Cost Center and Work-tag Types have been successfully added or updated. The corresponding rows and their fields will be highlighted in green, indicating successful execution. Additionally, the Processing Status for particular rows will be changed to "Processed”.


- To confirm the changes made, navigate to “View Cost Center” window by searching it through the search bar in Workday Home page. There you can see a new Window will pop up, search for the name of Cost Center you just created.

- Once you select a Cost Center, you can view various details such as members, roles, and more. Additional information can be accessed by clicking the ellipsis (three dots) in the top menu, depending on your access permissions. Within the grid, you can sort and filter the data as needed. In the details section, you can also verify that the associated Worktag has been processed.


This confirms a successful execution where a new cost center was added in the Core HCM module using ConfigBot, ensuring accurate data transfer and configuration within Workday.
