ConfigBot WD - How To Initiate a New Business Process
Business Process - Initiating a New Business Process
The following article will help to explain how you can Initiate a Business Process in Workday through Configbot.
- Enter your Username and Password and click on the submit button to login.

- Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the " Platform Panel" and then Click on Business Process Module.

- Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

- Navigate to the generated workbook (in my case, Iteration #5) and open the workbook.

- Navigate to the worksheet tab labeled as “Business Process”.

- To create a new business process, select the business process type and the supervisory organization in which you want to initiate the business process. Leave the business process name empty, as it will be auto-generated, and fill in the remaining fields with relevant data.
In the other section, select the same business process type and supervisory organization, and again leave the business process name empty. You can then add multiple steps for the new business process, ensuring that the first step is an initiation step. You can also add validations and step conditions, making sure to use relevant data from the instance.
Once all the data is added, set the processing status to Pending.
Note: Please confirm in the workbook or instance that the business process type you want to initiate is available for the selected Supervisory Organization.

- Close the Workbook, navigate back to your workspace, click on the hamburger menu and select start configuration option.

- The Start Configuration pop-up window will appear. Enter your Workday password and provide any relevant execution notes. Then, select the checkbox for the “Business Process”. Finally, click the "Confirm and Start" button.

- You can track the progress of iteration by clicking on Information Icon (i).

- Once the status shows "Complete," then return to the workbook to confirm that the data was successfully added. The following rows and their fields will be highlighted in green, indicating successful execution. Additionally, the Processing Status will be changed to Processed.

- To confirm the changes made, navigate to the ‘' Supervisory Organization” window in which you initiated the business process by searching for it by name using the search bar on the Workday Home page. Then click at three dots and navigate towards the Business Process Definitions.Inside the definitions window you can search for the Newly Created Business Process and view its details to confirm the changes.

This confirms a successful execution where a new “Business Process” was initiated to the Business Process Module using ConfigBot, ensuring accurate data transfer and configuration within Workday.
