Impact Analysis - Impact Analysis
The following article will help to explain how you generate Impact Analysis for Core HCM, Recruiting and Compensation in Workday through Configbot.
- Enter your Username and Password and click on the submit button to login.

- Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the " Impact Analysis" and then Click on Impact Analysis Module.

- Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

- Navigate to the generated workbook (in my case, Iteration #1) and open the workbook.

- Inside the workbook, you can navigate to each sheet and see that they are currently empty.

- To generate the analysis, return to your workspace, click the hamburger menu, and select the Generate Analysis option. In the Generate Analysis window, select all three modules along with their respective iterations for which you want to generate the analysis. Once selected, click the confirm and start button to begin the analysis process.

- Once the execution is completed, you can open the workbook to review the generated details. For each object, the category, identifier, dependency category, and usage are automatically populated.
A. For Core HCM, you can see which business process types are created for specific supervisory organizations. By scrolling down, you can review additional fields along with their dependencies and usage across the system. This helps you understand that any change made to a specific business process will impact the associated organization, and vice versa.
B. For Recruiting, you can see which job posting templates are included in each external career site. Scrolling further allows you to review other fields, their dependencies, and how they are used across the system. This helps analyze how changes to a specific job posting may impact the related external career site, and vice versa.
C. For Compensation, you can see which compensation plans are included within specific compensation bases. Additional fields, dependencies, and usage details are available as you scroll through the sheet. This helps you understand that changes made to a particular compensation plan can impact the related compensation basis, and vice versa.

In conclusion, ConfigBot’s analysis functionality provides clear visibility into object relationships, dependencies, and system-wide usage across Core HCM, Recruiting, and Compensation. By generating and reviewing this analysis, users can easily understand how configuration changes impact related objects before making updates. This helps reduce risk, improve decision-making, and ensure that configuration changes are implemented accurately and confidently across environments.
