New Modules:

Succession

ConfigBot now supports Succession. This module empowers HR teams to manage talent pipelines effectively by automating succession planning processes in Dayforce. It helps identify high-potential employees, track readiness for key roles, and maintain a dynamic succession chart that reflects real-time organizational changes. It also ensures seamless data integration and updates for employee competencies, performance history, and readiness ratings.

User

A new module, User, has been introduced in ConfigBot. This module streamlines the management of employee profiles and user-related data within Dayforce. It automates the setup, updates, and maintenance of user accounts, ensuring accurate access rights and data consistency across the platform. With its robust automation capabilities, the User Module in ConfigBot minimizes manual interventions in routine tasks such as user provisioning, role assignments, and status updates.

Payroll General Ledger

The Payroll General Ledger Module has been added to ConfigBot. This module streamlines the critical process of mapping payroll data to an organization’s financial systems within Dayforce. By accurately classifying payroll transactions into the appropriate general ledger accounts, it ensures error-free reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Workbooks Deprecated / Upgrade Workbook (Dayforce – ConfigBot)

A deprecated workbook in ConfigBot for Dayforce is a workbook that no longer maintains a bidirectional connection with a Dayforce instance. This usually happens when our development team needs to alter the workbook’s formatting for one of the following reasons:

Dayforce undergoes a significant change with a new release or feature.
We modify the workbook based on client feedback.

You can identify a deprecated workbook because its iteration will appear in gray.

What do I do when the workbook deprecates?

For a quick fix, use the “Upgrade Workbook” function. This will trigger a bot to reformat the workbook into the latest ConfigBot standard, restoring bidirectional communication between the workbook and your Dayforce instance. After the “Upgrade Workbook” process completes, you’ll be able to continue automating configuration and generate a new workbook from that same instance. To run this feature, click the hamburger menu on a deprecated workbook. (Note: Not all users have permissions for this action. Please contact your Company Admin if access is needed.)

The following article will help explain on how you can add or update a Region in Workday through Configbot.

Enter your Username and Password and click at the submit button to login.

Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the "Core HCM" module tile.

Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

Navigate to the generated workbook (in my case, Iteration #5) and open the workbook.
The workbook will appear in a new tab on your browser. Navigate to the worksheet tab labeled ‘Region’.

Enter the Region Name, Code and Type in their respective columns. Fill the remaining fields according to your requirement and set the processing status to pending.

Close the workbook and navigate back to ConfigBot. Under the Actions tab for the same iteration number, click the hamburger menu, and select the "Start Configuration" opt

Dayforce User Permissions Guide

This article explains how to assign user permissions in your Dayforce instance to ensure that all screens in ConfigBot display complete data.

Start by navigating towards the Roles module under System Admin.

Then Navigate towards the Role that is Assigned to you and click at the Web Services Field - Level Access tab.

Inside the Web Services Tab Click at Restful Services Option.

Next, within Restful Services, click Configuration. Inside the Configuration section, you’ll find various role types such as Department, Jobs, Labor Metrics, and others. Select any of these roles, then choose Select All to grant full permissions. After selecting all permissions, click Save to apply the changes.

After assigning the permissions, return to ConfigBot and regenerate the workbooks for the respective screens to ensure the updated data is reflected.
