MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) for Dayforce and ConfigBot

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a multi-step account login process that requires users to enter more information than just a password. For example, along with the password, users might be asked to enter a code sent to their email, answer a secret question, or scan a fingerprint. This article will you help you in setting up MFA.



  1. Log in to your Dayforce instance by entering your credentials.



  1. Then Navigate towards your profile option and select any access level you are using.



  1. Inside your profile navigate towards the settings tab and select security option.



  1. Within security tab navigate towards the Multi-Factor Authentication and click at Edit Button.




  1. 1. Once you click at edit button, a window will appear from where you can set up authenticator, click at continue button then follow these steps:

 

A. Copy the secret key and save it somewhere make sure you remove the space between code character. For E.g  xxx xxx xxx will be xxxxxxxxx.


B. Scan the QR Code on your Authenticator app, once done click at continue.



  1. Now open the app on your Authenticator and type the verification app code here to add your Authentictor to Dayforce instance.



  1. Back in your ConfigBot, click at your profile section and select company settings.






  1. Inside company settings navigate towards the My Key tab and select Add New User Key.



  1.  Now add your instance id, username and key title. Then copy the MFA key you saved from instance, make sure it is without spaces. Once all details are filled click at Submit Button to save the user details. Notice that the key is now successfully added.
