ConfigBot DF - How To Migrate Pay Policies
This article will help you understand the necessary steps and the impact of “Object Values” when moving Pay Policies from one instance to another.
- Enter your Username and Password and click at the submit button to login.

- Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the "Pay Setup" module tile under Platform.

- Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

- Lets Start by comparing the workbook from two different instances, to see the similarities and differences among them.

- Once the compare is completed open the workbook to see the similar and different objects among both instances.
Here you can see that the object named "Aus_Hourly_004" is not present in instance 02, so this object needs to be migrated. Before starting the migration, ensure that the processing status is set to pending in all pay policy sheets wherever data related to this object exists. This ensures that all associated data, such as rule sets, dynamic relocations, and rate displays, is migrated correctly from one instance to another.
For this object, data exists only in the Pay Policy and Pay Policy Rules Config sheets, so both need to be set to pending. Please note that if any value, rule type, or qualifier type is not present in the target instance, the bot will skip that specific object and continue migrating the remaining data.

- Once the objects are set to pending navigate back to your workspace and click at edit iteration button, now replace the instance 01 details to instance 02 as we are migrating the objects from instance 01 to instance 02.

- Click at Hamburger Menu and select Start Configuration option, Enter your Dayforce Instance 02 object and add relevant notes, select Pay Policy and Pay Policy Rules check box and finally click at confirm and start button to process execution.

- While migration you can click at "i" show progress Icon to view execution details, in this case you can see that there are some values not present in the instance 02 so bot have skipped those qualifiers and proceed with remaining rule sets.

- Once the processing status is completed, you can open the workbook to confirm the changes. The object Aus Hourly 004 and its related fields will be highlighted in green. You can then navigate to the Pay Policy Rules sheet to confirm the migration of rules. All rules are successfully migrated, and only the qualifier that had different values in instance 02 is highlighted in red

- Navigate to your Dayforce Instance 02 to validate the changes. Here, you can see that object has been successfully migrated with the rules and other related data.

This concludes the successful migration process and outlines the necessary steps that need to be taken when migrating objects with rule sets.
