ConfigBot DF - Pay Setup - Entitlements - Use Case 02 (Renaming and Migration)
This article will help you understand the necessary steps for renaming an object while migrating it from one Dayforce instance to another, ensuring a smooth migration without conflicts or data inconsistencies.
- Enter your Username and Password and click at the submit button to login.

- Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the "Pay Setup" module tile under Platform.

- Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

- Open the compared workbooks from both instances to locate the object you want to migrate. Let say we want to migrate object ConfigBot For Dayforce from instance 1 to instance 2, before migrating, ensure that no object with a similar Id already exist in instance 2

- Now lets rename the object before migration, make sure to rename the object in all rows where the rule sets related to object are attached, if not, the bot will create the object without migrating the rules, and once done, set the processing status to pending.

- Navigate back to your workspace and ensure the iteration has the updated migration details. Click at hamburger menu and select start configuration option, enter your dayforce instance password and add any relevant notes, select entitlement check box and finally click at confirm and start button to process execution.

- Once the processing status is completed, open the workbook to verify the changes. You will see that the renamed object has been successfully migrated from one instance to another, and the rule sets have also been migrated with the new object name

- Let’s navigate to both Dayforce instances to confirm the changes. In Instance 02, you can see that the object has been created with the new name and the rule sets are attached to it. In Instance 01, you can see that the same object is present with its old name and the corresponding rule sets.

This completes the successful process and the necessary steps to verify when renaming and migrating an object from one instance to another.
