Shift Setup - Shift Definitions.
The following article will help to explain how you can create a new Shift Definition in Dayforce using Configbot.
- Enter your Username and Password and click at the submit button to login.
- Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the "Shift Setup" module tile under Scheduling Plan.
- Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.
- Navigate to the workbook (in my case, Iteration #2) and open the workbook.
- The workbook will appear in a new tab on your browser. Navigate to the worksheet tab labeled ‘Shift Definitions’.
- Enter the Unique Name for Shift Definition you are creating, then add Start and End Time along with description and reference code, make sure to select category as custom always. In the other section select similar shift definition then add the meal or break time for it and other details as per your relevance. Once done set the processing status to "Pending".
- Close the workbook and navigate back to ConfigBot. Under the Actions tab for the same iteration number, click the hamburger menu, and select the "Start Configuration" option from the dropdown menu.
- The Start Configuration pop-up window will appear. Enter your Dayforce password and provide any relevant execution notes. Then, select the checkbox for Shift Definitions. Finally, click the "Confirm and Start" button.
- You can later click the information icon to monitor the progress of your iteration.
- Once the status shows "Complete," return to the workbook to verify that the Shift Definition is created. The corresponding rows and their fields will be highlighted in green, indicating successful execution. Additionally, the Processing Status for particular rows will be changed to "Processed”.
- Navigate to your Dayforce instance to confirm the changes. Under Shift Definitions, you’ll see the newly created Shift Definitions “Rotational Shift” and its related data.
This confirms a successful execution where a new Shift Definition was create in Shift Setup module using ConfigBot, ensuring accurate data transfer and configuration within Dayforce.
