Clone, Compare and Migrate - Pay Setup - Pay Codes

The following article will help explain on how you can Clone iterations, compare them and migrate data from one instance to another using Configbot.

1.  Enter your Username and Password and click at the submit button to login.

2.    Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the "Pay Setup" module tile under Platform.

3.   Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

4. Navigate to the workbook which you want to clone (in my case, Iteration #1 and #2). Make sure to have two workbooks from different instances.

5. Within the action menu, select the clone option a form will appear, enter your iteration number, instance type and then select configuration and workbook option to clone all the data from workbook. Repeat the same process for other iteration.

6. Once the iterations are cloned, click the hamburger menu and select Compare Iteration. In the compare window, choose the iteration you want to compare against and add the relevant notes. Finally, click Confirm and Start to begin the comparison.

7.  You can later click the information icon to monitor the progress of your iteration.

8. Once completed, open the workbook and navigate towards any sheet, such as Pay Code in this case. Here, you will see green and red highlights:

• Green highlights indicate objects and related data that are the same in both instances.
• Red highlights indicate differences in objects and related data between the two instances.

9. Now let’s migrate the red-highlighted pay code to Instance 02. Set the Processing Status to Pending for the object you want to move to the other instance — for example, we are selecting the “UNS” object in this case.

10. Back in your workspace, click at edit iteration button within actions menu for the iteration you have set the object as pending.

11. Within the Edit Iteration window, change the iteration details from Instance 01 (source) to Instance 02 (destination) where you want to migrate the Pay Code, and then click the Submit button.

12. Back in your workspace, click the hamburger menu and select Start Configuration. Enter your Dayforce Instance 02 password, add any relevant notes, and select the Pay Code checkbox. Finally, click Confirm and Start to begin the migration process.

13. Once the execution is complete, open the workbook and navigate to the Pay Code sheet. Here you’ll see that the object we migrated is now highlighted in green (it was previously red). This confirms that the migration from one instance to the other was successful.

14. Lastly you can navigate towards the Pay code within the Dayforce instance to confirm the new object that was successfully migrated.

This confirms the successful processing of the Clone, Compare, and Migration functions using Configbot for Dayforce.
