Impact Analysis Security - Security Groups Difference

The following article explains how to generate Impact Analysis Security for Security Groups Difference in Workday using ConfigBot.

1. Enter your Username and Password and click on the submit button to login.

2. Navigate towards the "Home screen" and click on the " Impact Analysis" and then Click on Impact Analysis Security Module.

3. Select the workspace that best suits your preferences or requirements.

4. Navigate to the generated workbook (in my case, Iteration #1) and open the workbook.

5. Within the workbook, you can navigate to "Security Groups Difference" & "Security Groups Difference Details" Sheets and verify that it is empty.

6. To generate the analysis, navigate back to your workspace, open the hamburger menu, and select the ‘Generate Analysis’ option. In the Generate Analysis window, choose the ‘Security Groups Difference’ option and select the source iteration from which data would be fetch and then specify destination 1 and 2 for analyzing differences . Once the selections are complete, click the ‘Confirm and Start’ button to initiate the analysis process.

7. You can track the progress of iteration by clicking on Information Icon (i). 

8. Once the execution is complete, open the generated workbook and navigate to the “Security Groups Difference” and “Security Groups Difference Details” sheets for review.

These sheets present a structured comparison of configurations across the Source, Destination 1, and Destination 2 environments. Each record includes a “Has Difference” column, which provides a clear indication of whether discrepancies exist between the compared configurations.
The values in this column are interpreted as follows:

• Yes – Indicates that differences exist between the source and one or both destination environments.
• No – Indicates that the configurations are consistent, with no differences identified.
• N/A – Indicates that the data is not present in the destination environments; therefore, no comparison could be performed.

In conclusion, ConfigBot’s analysis functionality provides clear visibility into differences between security groups across source and destination iterations in Workday through structured comparison sheets. By reviewing the Security Group Difference sheet, users can quickly identify whether differences exist using clear Yes/No indicators, while the Security Group Difference Details sheet provides a detailed comparison of source and destination values for deeper analysis.
